Our People
Keith G. Churchouse B A (Hons) FPFS
Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Planner, Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and ISO22222 Certified Financial Planner
The Churchouse family moved to Guildford in October 1979 from Reading. Many in Guildford will remember my father Roger who was a Manager for a local bank for many years. Financial services have been with me all my life.
Having left George Abbot School in 1984, I became a Draughtsman for a year before following the family line and joining a bank, although not the same as my fathers (to provide a bit of healthy competition!).
I worked in East Horsley for 2 years before leaving the bank and moving into the insurance world, initially in mortgages, before moving to a large insurance company firstly as a sales representative, before being promoted to the role of Financial Planner. This has meant that I now know the counties of Surrey, Sussex and Kent very well, I have also worked for the past 2 year in the City (London). I enjoy providing financial planning advice and this has motivated me to improve my understanding by sitting the Chartered Insurance Institute financial services examinations and recently completing an honours degree in Financial Services. This provides my clients with confident and informed recommendations.
In addition Keith has written a book about his 25 years in Financial Services called Sign Here, here and here! Journey of a Financial Adviser, (£9.99) available from www.signherehereandhere.co.uk and all good bookshops.
Within the business community, Keith has been elected as President of the Guildford Committee of Surrey Chambers of Commerce from September 2008. This is a thriving business network across Surrey. Talk to Keith about joining!
I try to have a life outside work, and very much enjoy writing books (2 due out in 2010), Art, keeping fit by cycling and exercise, scuba diving and tending the garden. He is also ran in the Great South Run in October 2008 in aid of The Association for Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus.
Esther Dadswell B Eng (Hons), C Eng, MICE
Director and Office Manager (Non advisory role).
Esther has had a successful career in Civil Engineering, graduating in 1991 and achieving chartered status in 1998. In addition to her engineering qualifications, Esther has also passed the Association of Project Managers Practitioners exam.
Esther's role in civil engineering has seen her work on many projects around the country, ranging from short cable tunnels under London, to large motorway widening schemes, with the last project being an infrastructure survey of the London underground network.
As the demands of Churchouse Financial Planning Limited have grown, so has the need for management of administration. This need has been met by Esther, who joined on a full time basis in January 2005. Although a full director of the company, this is her first foray into the financial services world, and she brings to the back office function a wealth of management and business acumen to propel the company forward. Esther has played a pivotal role in the design and implementation of our web design.
When Esther can drag herself away from work she enjoys swimming, scuba diving and holidays in the sun. She qualified as an open water diver in 2005 and advanced open water diver in 2006. Together with Keith she also ran in the Great South Run in October 2008 in aid of The Association for Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus.
